Experience
After completing the requirements for a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1987, Mr. Davis joined Carolina Power & Light Company, in Morehead City, North Carolina.  At Carolina Power & Light Company, Mr. Davis served as a Distribution and Design engineer, with primary responsibilities including designing and engineering distribution facilities, resolving power quality and capacity issues for clients. In 1993 Mr. Davis moved to Rate Administration where he advised account executives on rates and service procedures. From 1995‐1997 Mr. Davis served as a Senior Analyst in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this position he was responsible for determining viability of proposed company‐wide, consumer marketing initiatives and communication plans through modeling, analyses and research. In 1997 Mr. Davis was promoted to Account Manager where he served as a chief liaison for the company’s largest clients.        

In 1999‐2012 Mr. Davis joined Progress Energy Raleigh, North Carolina.  At Progress Energy he served as the Business Development Manager/ Lead Negotiator.  His responsibilities included directing the purchase and sale of power and managed business relationships for a broad range of clients.

​Mr. Davis joined UTEC in 2014.  Prior to joining UTEC, Mr. Davis was an independent Energy Consultant.  He supported a wide range of energy companies in strategic partnership and expansion activities, including:  performance analysis, due-diligence, financial modeling, project management, negotiation and execution of Renewable Energy Credit agreements, power supply agreements, interconnection agreements, regulatory navigation, renewable energy bond application, and external vendor negotiations.
