R. Ed Kilby - Senior Analyst

 

 








  

EDUCATION

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management, Clemson University, 1971
With concentrations in Industrial Engineering and Accounting.

EXPERIENCE

During attendance at Clemson University, Mr. Kilby worked as an associate industrial engineer with Owens Corning Fiberglas to finance his education.  After graduation he became an industrial engineer with the same firm.  He later moved into the sales field with Owens Corning. 

In 1978 Mr. Kilby joined CertainTeed Corporation as the Plant Industrial Engineering Manager.  After advancing to Operations Manager he left the production area to move into sales again.  Mr. Kilby’s career includes over 25 years of experience in selling, and sales/marketing management with expertise in market analysis, business planning, developing new market niches and pricing strategies.  He is a skilled administrator and strategic thinker combining strong relationship management with a business manager’s bottom line focus to meet and exceed goals and profit objectives.  His last position with CertainTeed before joining UTEC was Group Marketing and Product Manager for North America where he managed a global product line, representing over 50% market share and accounting for revenues exceeding $75 million.  Mr. Kilby is experienced in negotiating multi-year supply contracts with values in excess of 10 million dollars.

Mr. Kilby joined UTEC in March of 2004 to manage the firm’s subsidiary company Computer Consulting Group (CCG).  In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Kilby has worked on UTEC projects to negotiate the sale of excess power and on a wholesale power purchase contract.  Mr. Kilby has also functioned as senior analyst for energy reduction projects, cost of service studies and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects.  He has also functioned as compliance officer for regulatory issues for UTEC clients.

 

RECENT PROJECTS

The following is a list of projects that Mr. Kilby has recently worked on:

·         Progress Energy Florida 50 MW Excess Capacity Sale for 2006

·         Progress Energy Carolina 100 MW Excess Capacity Sale for 2007

·         Seneca automation project for peak shaving management

·         Seneca  new wholesale power contract

·         Serve as Seneca Compliance officer for SERC/NERC regulations

·         Analyst for Western Carolina Regional Sewer Authority Energy Reduction Project

·         Preliminary Engineering Design Report for the Digester Gas Generation at the Facilities, Renewable Water Resources, Greenville, SC – coordinated digester gas sampling, analyzed gas testing results, equipment determination, assisted with development of project cost opinion.
