Utility Technology Engineers-Consultants (UTEC) provides electrical engineering design, analysis and consulting services to utilities and industries. J. Ted Orrell and Gary W. Mullis founded the company in 1989. John S. Brown joined the firm as a partner in 1991. UTEC's home office is in Asheboro, NC, with a branch office in Spartanburg, SC. UTEC and its subsidiary companies have a staff of twenty including eight electrical engineers, one mechanical engineer, one computer network consultant, two PC technicians, five building/roof consultants and technicians, two CAD designers and two clerical staff.
Our engineering staff averages over 20 years of experience. In September of 2003 UTEC celebrated 14 years of service.
